Default is doing witchcraft to harm a person against the law?

i don't mean like kidnapping and doing some sort of weird ritual or something i mean the person you are trying to do harm doesn't know a thing, is it illegal?
OK good because i don't believe in magic either...
because*

Only in some backward African countries where everyone believe in magic.

In the civilized world, magic is considered non existing, harmless and not illegal.

depends on what stuff within the witchcraft you are doing.. some witches use poisons.. ask yourself.. if you poison someone without them knowing a thing, is it illegal or not.. duh!.. ITS ILLEGAL, regardless if the victim knows whats going on or not...

The law? Probably - not any more.

It is, however, against the morals of many magi ck-using groups and faiths.

It's like prayer, only you get to take the credit and guilt if it works.

Harming people is against the law, regardless how you do it.

However, for someone to be convicted, you have to prove the person caused you harm, and there's no way of proving witchcraft (and that's presuming you even believe it would work) in Western legal codes.

No one has the right to harm anyone, however, it's not illegal (if it were a spell) as it wouldn't be possible for the law to determine WHO did the act of harm if it was done through energetic means. It is however, frowned upon by many.

Now if someone were to administer something dangerous like a drug or a poison created through craft means, then that can be traced back to someone, and WOULD be illegal.
