Default How common is the occult and witchcraft in the African-American community?

I don't mean the stupid, trendy, "let's be teen witches" type dabbling, I mean people who actually practice things of an occult nature. Are there many people in the African-American community opening up holes to the spirit world and stuff? Are occult subjects more taboo in the African-American community or is it more widespread than people believe?
I am not saying that I support these practices, I am just curious what it is like in the Black community. It is very common in the White community because of European history and the church being the bad guys so the occult becomes the biggest symbol of rebellion in the European diaspora many times. It goes back to the church suppressing the native cultures over the centuries. I was just wondering how this plays out in the Black community since it would be a different relationship with the main religion anyway.
I hope that they don't conjure up the demon Mephiskapheles.....

To put it bluntly, I hope that stuff isn't common in the Black community at all. Your dabbling into Satan's realm and I suggest you stay away from that stuff. Your messing with stuff that you shouldn't be messing with.

no we dint mess with stuff like that..they ancient knowledge we once had was stolen (Egyptians) and now is being used as witchcraft to keep the masses of people sleep and unturned with their inner souls. trust me what u hear about it now is not the truth..more and more black people are learning more about the occult subject since now that hip hip is under-attack since its the most influential thing in the world right now.
