Default Why do most people call witchcraft evil and disregard...?

that they have a rule/law they must follow, ''an ye harm none, do as ye will''. Why do people avoid that when they call it evil?
Micah surely you understand the bible was written for stupid people as they had no intelligence in science, magic can't be done or you'd actually see some news on it or see it in action.
But ascension, spirits do not exist either.
Peggy Satan is a human who doesn't like earth humans. It's rude to confuse him for a creature that was made by the catholic church out of the Wiccan god/Des of nature who does have horns but antlers technically.

Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, SORCERY, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

I don't call witchcraft evil; I call it silly and delusional. No different than almost all other religions.

I think that quickly degrades to "As long as I think I'm not hurting anybody, I'll do what I want." The Road to hell is paved with good intentions. Christ wanted us to now about and use our spiritual abilities. But ethically. I'm sure many Wiccans are good people. It's my point of view however, that trying to "control" spiritual forces through astrology and witchcraft, only binds the soul/spirit more to those things.

You are describing Wicca, not Witchcraft!

Wicca is a Religion, that sometimes makes use of magi ck (as do all Religions).

Witchcraft is the use of magi ck without bothering with Religion, or morality. That being the case, most witches use magi ck to selfishly improve their circumstances. For some reason, Christians consider this 'evil'. It isn't evil when you do it with politics, but it is when you do it with magi ck, it is.

Go figure.

They have been brain washed by church propaganda, are too lazy to study up on the subject for themselves. It is easier for them to just let the church tell them what to believe.

It makes them feel good to be able to look down on another group of people and think that they are better than them because they believe "the truth" versus what ever it is that others believe.

Christianity teaches that it is better to live in ignorance than have any knowledge other than the church propaganda. I call it the CHristian virtue of "will-full ignorance". This practice gives birth to evil ....intolerance....violence. All in the name of their "loving" God.

Anyone involved in witchcraft is involved in, and is working for, Satan. Your phrase ''an ye harm none, do as ye will'' might sound rather sweet but that is part of the evil nature of Satan - to make evil appear to be good.

Do not be deluded by him. Those who are taught that witchcraft has nothing to do with Satan are deceived. He is the great deceiver and delights in preventing people from believing in Christ. The lives of anyone involved with him will be ruined. If you are one of them you should get out now or you will live to regret your dalliance with the devil.

JayJay, if you want enlightenment on who/what Satan is you need go no further than the bible. He was not invented by any particular church but the caricature/caricature of him might have been. He was an angel in heaven who rebelled against God and was thrown out. He has roamed the earth ever since and is certainly not a human being who hates human beings. The bible makes this abundantly clear.

Isn't it obvious.....because the Bible condemns magic, sorcery and spirit ism. Besides, the power from witchcraft comes from Satan and his demons.

(Deuteronomy 18:10-12) There should not be found in you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, anyone who employs divination, a practice of magic or anyone who looks for omens or a sorcerer, 11?or one who binds others with a spell or anyone who consults a spirit medium or a professional fore teller of events or anyone who inquires of the dead. 12?For everybody doing these things is something detestable to Jehovah, and on account of these detestable things Jehovah your God is driving them away from before you.

They blindly follow what their religious leader/book tells them with no thought as to whether or not it makes sense. They don't bother to research into the actual meaning and discover that witchcraft is part of Wicca and not something "evil." Also, people who call things evil usually think anything that is different from what they have been told and what they believe in is automatically wrong and bad.

People who call witchcraft and/or Wicca evil know nothing about witchcraft or Wicca except the lies originating in the pulpit and Hollywood spin. Obviously they are not the kind of people who would ever question the absolute truth and authority of either.

@ piggy, sorry my bad that's Peggy.

Most Pagans do not believe in YOUR Satan. He is your Christian creation. He does not exist in our spirituality. All his power comes from YOUR belief in him. You are his tools. All who believe in him are satanists, not those who deny his existence.

Not all Witches adhere to the WICCAN Rede (Wiccan is in capital letters because it's THEIR law, not mine, nor all Witches). Wicca is a separate religion, whereas Witchcraft is a practice...NOT a religion. Each practitioner of Witchcraft follow either their own personally set form of ethics or those of their particular tradition. Don't confuse Witches (or even all Wiccans for that matter) with pacific ts who would rather sit on their butts for fear of hurting something and having their version of "Karma" inflict it's wrath on them, because then you would have a very naive view on both practices.

Witchcraft is neither good nor evil. It's merely a practice.

People call it evil because they don't understand it, and when people encounter something they dint understand (or in some cases don't WANT to understand), the automatically call it evil (or in the case of many Christians, "of the devil").

As for your "additional details" magic does exist, however it is very subtle, and it's effects are only noticed by those who have trained themselves to recognize it. Surely YOU wouldn't notice because 1) you don't believe it exists, therefore trained your brain not to recognize any type of result 2) haven't studied PERIOD!

Magic is NOT poofs of smoke, sparkly lights and the instantaneous materialization anything like seen in stupid teen aged drama shows like charmed or Buffy. It's also not used to gain stupid or petty things like boyfriends, large sums of money or miraculously heal the sick or raise the dead. TV has really sucked people into believing just about anything.

The bible wasn't written intentionally for the stupid, but was indeed written by flawed humans, not any Gods. How harshly you judge. Also because you have not seen a spirit does not automatically mean they don't exist. If you live by what you see alone, you do yourself a disservice and end up living a life unfulfilled (I feel sorry for you for that).

Satan is not human. Satan is a story-time creature created to blame bad habits on (and the Wiccans don't have any designated deities, they utilize Prue-existing pantheons that can be from various cultures, be it their own or otherwise).

I'd say before discussing any further you actually do some research into what you discuss because this question and it's subsequent "details" contain many flaws.

They can't even define witchcraft or give credible examples. And those that would be able to list a couple of things would be shocked to find them in their own religion. It's mostly ignorance, sometimes will full, but I think most of the time they've been scared by their preachers/parents/etc to the point that they won't even study about it.

Ah the old "Satan"... funny thing is, nowhere does it depict Satan as anything other than an angel. It wasn't till after Christianity started to spread that the Church started claiming gods like Pan and Cernunnos were "Satan". Which is where we get the image of Satan having goats feet (Pan) and horns (both Pan and Cernunnos) But you won't find that in the bible. In fact, "an angel of light" is the ONLY description it gives of Satan. - Probably because the Jews don't believe Satan is a being... Ha Satan = adversary which to them was mankind's ego... not some separate being trying to trick people.
