Why did Christine O'Donnell lie about dabbling in witchcraft?
What she describes in the video is Satanism, not witchcraft. Satanism and witchcraft have about as much in common as a goldfish and an elephant. Witches, like all Pagans, don't even have the concept of heaven and hell. Is she a liar? An idiot? Or perhaps an lying idiot?
Hello, mo mo. If she's not a liar then I guess she's an idiot and probably has a hard time telling a horse from a chicken.
Lib lick er, yes, I am. I've been Pagan my entire life and therefor know a few things about it.
Honey, stop being such a paranoid. This is the first time I've been on here all day. I've been watching football all afternoon.
SMS, you kook, Hillary is not a lesbian. Christine O'Donnell, however, is.
Perhaps it was because she "dabbled". Kind of like "I didn't inhale", you know, dabbling.
It would be so "intolerant" of you not to embrace her if she did engage in either you know. If you can overlook Ted K. getting away with murder, you can forgive her this little indiscretion.
Maybe she doesn't know the difference. I don't and that is because I stay away from all that stuff. Doesn't the word dabble mean to undertake something without a serious intent? That's what she did is dabble. Now why in the heck is the media bringing up something from so long ago? Have not even you changed in your thinking over the years? I know I have. I use to be a Democrat.
And yet when every SCOTUS decision is decided by "5-4 in favor" and a President of the United States got up before Congress and declares his health care "reform" will not federally-fund abortions (but deliberately does under the terminology of "reproductive choice" in the bill), illegal immigrants (so now we let them "bleed out in the streets"? How "Republican" of them!), and be "deficit neutral" (LOL), THIS is whom we choose to call "POLITICAL LIAR"? I guess her "lie" is the same one that calls the legitimate, constitutionally=protected religion of "WICCAN" witchcraft and/or "Satanism"!
I am aware that many young people, including some in my own religion of Wicca, think that they "own" the word Witch and get to say who uses it, and who does not, but Anton LeVay was calling his Satanism "Satanic Witchcraft" probably before you were born...and he was within his rights to do so, both legally and historically.
The word Witchcraft does not imply a religion-Pagan or otherwise-and frankly, no one has claimed as much since Margaret Murray, who used the word "Witch-cult" to describe her "Witch religion."
Redefining a word to suit YOUR political agenda is as stupid when you do it as it is when O'Donnell does it. It does a harm to us all, breeds dishonesty and frankly, is something most Pagans oppose.
But then again, you've been a Pagan "your whole life" so obviously you've been a Pagan since before you were capable of thinking about what it means...
When you're ready to join those who actually are their religion by choice, and by thinking about it, there will be a seat at the table...
Until then stop throwing people with as much right to the word "Witch" as you have under the bus just because they are Satanists. Real ethics means throwing no one under the bus, not even Satanists.
