Default Don't judge me but I'm interested in witchcraft?

I'm a Catholic and I'm interested in witchcraft. I've been researching quite a lot and choose to only study psychic development, magi ck correspondences (e.g minerals, herbs, oils, co lours), astrology, meditation and yoga, auras, Reiko, homeopathy and Charis. But that it was said in Exodus 22:18 ( I think) that anyone who is a witch is to die. We only have one life so I want to take as much things I can without trying to break my religion and because I want to have something unique I can value myself in. I already play the flute but I don't feel fulfilled in my heart. Can you please help me and please don't be too harsh. =)

If you're already following one path you have no reason to follow another unless you want to make a significant deviation from your destination.

It is, on the other hand, perfectly okay to Learn about these things, so long as you don't practice them yourself.

On a serious note, Witchcraft has just as much proof it exists as religion does. I think you should do what makes you happy and what feels right to you. Besides, You are probably still young enough to "Repent". (: Enjoy your life, It's short.

I will not judge or condemn it is up to you.

Just one thought you cannot serve God and Mammon at the same time.

The devil does seduce with curiosity, and seduction--your interest is part of that seduction......

It isn't approved in the eyes of God, but it seems that you know this and are willing to do it anyways.,.... Im not judging, I do things sometimes I know I shouldn't, we are all human, but in this case, you have had time to sit and dwell on to do it or not... All I can say is He wont be smiling.

Hey now, don't sweat it(: If you're interested in something then go ahead and do as you please, it's your life, and you make your own decisions. Don't let anyone or anything ever convince you otherwise(:

Exodus 22:18 "Witch" should be translated as "poisoner."

Witchcraft is generally being able to identify and work with spiritual connections. There is nothing inherently evil about witchcraft. Like anything else in life, it is the motivations behind it, that make a thing evil. Have you checked out http://www.witchvox.com?

Christianity was invented to remove spiritual and occult knowledge (the powers of the mind) from the populace and place this power in the hands of a "chosen" few to the detriment of all humanity. The powers of the mind and soul are very real. People who are unaware of or who do not believe in these powers are easy to control and manipulate by those who are skilled in using these energies.

Witchcraft is a religion and a very interesting one. That quote from the Bible is very dated and I don't believe you are going against your religion.

Christianity rejects the laws of the entire old testament, keeping it only as history and prophecy. That's why you can eat bacon and wear cotton-poly fabrics and worship on Sundays. So don't worry about what Exodus says.

You will go to hell if you do those things. Just because you are saved does not allow you to dabble in the occult. The devil has deceived you and will get you away from Jesus. Your ideas come from allowing the devil to persuade you to take his ideas that God does not mind.
You are deluded and will die in it if you do not wake up. The devil will get you and you will think what happened? When you entertain thoughts that come in your mind about demonic practices then you have opened yourself up to demons.

Abominable PracticesDeuteronomy 18: 10 ? 12 outlines very specifically a number of different kinds of false prophets. God speaks very clearly about His regard for them as well. ?There shall not be found among you anyone? who practices witchcraft (the use of magic), or a soothsayer (a diviner), or one who interprets omens (someone who reads signs), or a sorcerer (a magician or wizard), or one who conjures spells, or a medium (a person claiming to be in contact with spirits of the dead), or a spirits, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord.?

You need to repent right now for this insatiable desire to commit the sin of witchcraft. You forget what happened to King Saul when he consulted with the witch of end or? He eventually lost the Holy Spirit and he was killed on the battlefield.

this is what the Lord says about the psychics who have a spirit of divination

Acts 16: 16- 18 KJV

16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

17The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

18And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

That please don't be too harsh part is gonna get me on the best answer :/

Realistically, it's fine if you study it, you just can't practice it.

If you look back at WHY this is against your religion, you discover two things. One,,, well,, one is too harsh. But two... Two, it's not against your religion because of some power you might gain over god (think about it, hes all-might, right? He's not scared of you Lil), it's about medieval people being afraid of what they did not understand.

The way I see it, if you only have one life to live you have a choice. Live to the fullest, or be Catholic.

Good luck!

Hi Rin,
The passage from Exodus does not mean that you will physically die before the time destined by God, but you will spiritually die.
Maybe they did stone witches or burn them in the past.

It seems you are looking for something where you can feel valued and also you want to be fulfilled spiritually. That's great and from God.

I am sorry that you have not found this in the Catholic church - yet!

I do fear that some of the things you mention that you would like to study will lead you away from God and the Catholic Church. Such as magic and Reiko. Reiki has to do with spirit guides doing the healing. Christians believe healing can be from the Lord only. It is not possible to mix the two without putting yourself in spiritual danger.

Meditation is a great way of prayer in the Catholic Church! It has been done by many of the Saints. Only the focus will be God, Jesus or the Holy Spirit.
I am sure you could find a Retreat or Spiritual guide in the Church who offers this way of prayer.

Herbs are good too. I have a herb garden in my garden, I love the scents and co lours and the natural healing properties they have. I also have herbs and flowers in my Marian garden such as marigolds, primroses, lavender.

From these you can get beautiful oils that are relaxing. I have some and I have had them blessed by a priest so they are dedicated to God.

Homeopathy is not something I have much experience with;some people feel it works for them. I don't think it goes against the commandments of God.

Have you considered being part of a Prayer Group? Your flute playing would be very welcomed.
Did you know that the Catholic Church has Healing Services?
I think that the Charismatic part of the Catholic Church could help you to feel more fulfilled in your heart.
It has done for me!
see http://www.ccr.org

I would say look at what is available in the Church and from the Holy Spirit before going away from there into witchcraft.
If you do it could involve a great struggle to get back to God.

With love in Christ

I think you should decide what you believe... if you think it is wrong, or that God said not to do it, then don't. Stick to your convictions because you're not going to get a free pass if you deliberately disobey what you believe your maker is saying.

If you think the Bible is wrong, then God is not against Witchcraft, then do what you want. You have to follow your own path, your own beliefs.

People are going to judge you all your life.

That being said , I'll star the question for pagan contacts.

Do whatever makes your happy or fulfills you. You only have to be sure that you remain ethical and honest and that you never use any knowledge to harm another person.

As long as you live a decent life, there is nothing to be worried about.
