Default What was the Religion during witchcraft in shakespearean time?

So my English homework is research about witchcraft in Shakespearean time and we have to find the religion, so during witchcraft in Shakespearean time what was their religion? Was it christian, Jewish? Thanks

Ok, If I understand your question correctly, I would say that Witches would consider them selves as a form of Pagan, their celebrations and rituals often being linked to nature and seasons.

... witchcraft isn't a time...
most people (if not all) were Celtic pagan. IF you're talking about MacBeth. in real life, i think they were Christian or Pagan.

During Shakespearean times the religion in England was same as it is now, Church of England. Most witches were brought up C of E, or Catholic, or possibly (but not likely) a more extreme protestant or Jewish. A witch can be any religion. There is a theory that witches were the holdouts of an old pagan religion, but that theory has been mostly discredited.
