It is based on the teachings of Zoroaster( Zarathrusta), an Iranian Prophet. The religion was founded in Iran in about 600 B.C. The religion says there is one universal God, Ahura Mazda, and all worship is directed ultimately toward Mazda. And that the universe is Mazda's creation as an antithesis for chaos, and that Mazda will ultimately prevail all evil.

On this site http://www.sacred-texts.com/zor/index.htm are sacred texts for it.
More helpful, at the bottom is a link to an external site: http://www.avesta.org/avesta.html
which has great summaries on the FAQ page: http://www.avesta.org/zfaq.html
including reference to the leading scholar on the religion Mary Boyce.
