Default How do educated Christians account for the similarities with Zoroastrianism?

It is well-documented history that Zoroastrianism Prue-dates Christianity by several thousand years, and that it introduced the ideas of:
God and Satan
Heaven and Hell
a savior
a savior born of a virgin
a second coming
judgment day
resurrection

Do Christians dispute history or have their own explanation? Are most Christians simply unaware of the origins of their religion, or do they chose ignorance over knowledge?

It is believed that the wise men who came to Bethlehem and gave presents to the child Jesus were most likely followers of Zoroastrianism. The two religions are very similar and Zoroaster could have been talking about Jesus that many years before his birth.
I know exactly where you are coming from. But in my faith, Zoroaster was a prophet who told about Jesus' birth and life. Remember the Bible talks about many prophets and doesn't name them all. But a prophet was a common thing.

most Christians do not even know what Zoroastrianism is much less that it is similar to the Abrahamic religions

In Islam there is a simple explanation. Allah said he sent at least one messenger to all groups of people, not just the Prophets and Messengers (but) that are spoken about in the Quran. So there for it is not to hard for us to believe that Zarathustra was a messenger to the ancient Persian people

ZOROASTER is a prophet to the monotheistic GOD. Thus, Prophet Zoroaster was divinely revealed these truths before the coming of LORD JESUS CHRIST; or he was divinely tasked to pave the way for this belief which had already matured as a belief intended as spiritual practice to the time of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. Thus, this monotheistic belief in GOD preceded the time purposely to support the coming of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST and thus, the flourishing of Christianity today. THIS SPIRIT is under the unity of the Faith as there are 100 million Prophets born in heaven before time began but of one GOD, ONE LORD, ONE FAITH, ONE BAPTISM, ONE BODY AND ONE SPIRIT. And one of them is Zoroaster. THANKS GOD; FEAR GOD; PRAISE GOD; GLORIFY GOD; HONOR GOD; LOVE GOD AND WORSHIP GOD. Pls visit my website-HTTP://groups.yahoo.com/group/THEGOODNEWSOFTHEKINGDOM/

God himself introduced most of those principles just moments after Adam sinned.

This predates all else.

Look at Genesis 6 through 11 and then study history. After people spread out across the earth they took history with them, but skewed the accounts over time. They all knew of the messianic prophecy in Gen.3.They all knew about Adam and Eve.They all knew about Noah and the Flood.
