Default What the heck is Zoroastrianism?

I have heard about it in history but there were no details about what the faith believes.

Zorastrians believe that the souls of the dead will be reunited with their resurrected bodies on the last day. The dead man and the living will undergo the Last Judgement.

Zoroastrianism is the religion and philosophy based on the teachings ascribed to the prophet Zoroaster (Zarathustra, Zartosht). Mazdaism is the religion that acknowledges the divine authority of Ahura Mazda, proclaimed by Zoroaster to be the one uncreated Creator of all (God).

As demonstrated by Zoroastrian creed and articles of faith, the two terms are effectively synonymous. In a declaration of the creed ? the Fravar?n? ? the adherent states: "?I profess myself a devotee of Mazda, a follower of Zarathustra." (Yasna 12.2, 12.8)

Some scholars have suggested that Zoroastrianism was where the first prophet of a monotheistic faith arose[1], claiming Zoroastrianism as being "the oldest of the revealed cradle religions, which has probably had more influence on mankind directly or indirectly, more than any other faith".[2]

Zoroastrianism was once the dominant religion of much of Greater Iran. As of 2007 the faith has dwindled to small numbers; some sources suggest that it is practiced by fewer than 200,000 worldwide,[3] with its largest centers in India and Iran.

early Persian religion, said to have influenced Judaism. Prophet was called Zarathusta, [Zoroaster in Greek.] Scripture: Zend Avesta. Believed in a cosmic struggle between a good god and a wicked one. The good god will eventually win. Had a concept of judgment day and a Savior [Saroyan's.]

It is one of the earliest religions to split everything into either Good or Evil. It views good as white and as being in the North. Evil is black an it is in the South. The faith has the idea that we purify ourselves into light (white) as we travel North towards Good by eliminating evil (darkness) from our natures.
It is a bit more complex but basically it is the black and white dichotomy of good and evil that defines Zoroastricism.
