There are many similarities between Judaism and Zoroastrianism: they are both monotheistic, believe in angels, heaven and hell, and so on. They also have different scriptures and different histories. Judaism accepts Satan to be the loyal assistant of God with the role of testing the righteousness of people, while Zoroastrianism says that Angra Mainyu is an evil adversary. Judaism looks forward to the arrival of the Messiah, but Zoroastrianism teaches that the coming savior, the Saoshyant, will be born of a virgin and lead humanity in the last battle against evil.

Very few.

Zoroastrianism is a very vague religion. There is so little known about it that people just fill in the blanks with whatever they want and call it history.

answer: woo woo is correct and incorrect.

"they are both monotheistic" - incorrect. Zoroastrianism is a duality religion.

"believe in angels" - yes

heaven and hell" - wrong. There is no hell in Judaism. There is no eternal torment in Judaism.

"They also have different scriptures and different histories. Judaism accepts Satan to be the loyal assistant of God with the role of testing the righteousness of people, while Zoroastrianism says that Angra Mainyu is an evil adversary." - correct. HaSatan is not the bogeyman that Christianity and Islam made him out to be.

"Judaism looks forward to the arrival of the Messiah" - correct.

"Zoroastrianism teaches that the coming savior, the Saoshyant, will be born of a virgin and lead humanity in the last battle against evil" - correct, now you see where Christianity got their concept for a divine, sacrificed, returning savior. Those concepts are not taken from Judaism.

There are actually very few similarities between the two. People claiming the two are similar are generally uneducated about Judaism and assume their knowledge foe Chrisitan theology reflects a knowledge of Jewish theology.

So, Judaism is 100% monotheistic. we are completely forbidden from believing in any supernatural power having power independent of G-d. Judaism believes that G-d is the sole and only cause and author of events in the world. Zoroastianism is dualistic- it has a Good deity being opposed by an evil deity, each creating and altering world events in their cosmic battle, this is similar to the G-d vs Satan battle in Christianity, but such a battle is completely missing from Jewish beliefs.
Similarly, in Zoroastinaism you have two different supernatural realms- one ruled by the good god, heaven, the other by the evil god, hell. IN Judaism there is only one supernatural world ruled by G-d- there is no hell and no place in which an opposing evil deity or supernatural power rules.

Similarly, Judaism does not believe in a divine Savior, virgin birth, a need for salvation etc- these beliefs do exist in Zoroastianism and Christianity.

So, is Zortoasteianism similar to Judaism/ No- there are very few similarities and the differences are vast- is Zoroastianism similar to Christianity? Undoubtedly yes
