Religion which supports evolution? zoroastrianism?
I dint want to believe in religions with a hell. However, there is one religion which strikes me.
Zoroastrianism. It was founded by a prophet who spoke to God. He was the first monotheist. He had great impact on many religions such as Christianity and Judaism.
However, i came across this interesting site.

If you scroll down on Evolution,
Evolution
"How is existence brought about? Just as one substance is evolved out of another according to its own laws and in the finite time (fixed for it.)" (Dk4.46)
This is what it says. Now, i believe in evolution. For the priests to know of this in the 10Th century is remarkable. This is not the sayings of the prophet himself but of some priests 2000 years later. Zoroaster born 1200BC.
Is this a coincidence? I believe in evolution. However, i dint know if the scripture means literally what it says or something different.
Catholics and Church of England have no problem with evolution. But why do you need any religion? Do you need a crutch to lean on? Stand on your own two feet.
Zoroastrianism was the religion in ancient Persia which is still the religion of about 100,000 people in Iran and a few thousands of people outside Iran. It is a religion that is based on good behavior and good actions. They consider fire a very sacred element. They have places in which fire has not stopped burning in for thousands of years in Iran. Some think that Zoroastrianism is related to Islam but it really is not, as it was the religion of all people in Persian before Islam. They also believe in God and I think it's a cool religion as it has many real stories of the prophet and the people in the Avesta book.
Many consider this religion to be very complete and accurate. This could be a coincidence but when people in Persia were Zoroastrianist, the best scientists came out of Persia and the first international university was made in Persia. During the wars though many of their scientists books were burned by Arabs fighting their way to Iran.
So, yes, this religion does have scientific links.
Also, the famous Alternative Rock band 30 Seconds To Mars uses Mythra the Phoenix which is one of the ancient Persian symbols originating in the Zoroastrianism era.
If I say to corruption "You are my father."
And to the worm, "You are my mother and my sister."
Where then is my hope?
As for my hope, who can see it?
Will they go down to the gates of Sheol?
Shall we have rest together in the dust?
- Job 17: 14- 16
This verse talks about giving up hope.
And also is a witness against the teachings of evolution. Which is a teaching of the hopeless.
You may have to talk to an actual Zoroastrian but my understanding is they believe in the same creation theory as the Abrahamic religions.
In terms of people who believe seem to have evolution incorporated into their beliefs; if you look at the mythology of Australian natives they seem to have a belief in evolution. For example they have stories about how the crows went from being a white bird to black, how an animal called the EdnaDNAt it's spikes, how kangaroos got pouches and stories of how snakes lost their legs. According to their mythology animals have been evolving long after their creation myths.
@ war - why is evolution hopeless? It means we can change, perhaps change for the better. I personally think it's hope.
That line has nothing to do with biological evolution.
Sorry. Creatures are not "substances" and the passage provides absolutely no detailed mechanism - so they really didn't know _anything_ what so ever, because science is not about making a sweeping, generalized, vague statement and nothing more, and biological evolution of any aspect of science is certainly not lacking detail.
