Default Are There Any Similarities Between Hinduism And Zoroastrianism???

I am just curious...I know that Zoroaster was a Hindu himself but I don't know whether or not there were any similarities between the two religions.

First, Zoroaster was actually a Persian. Zoroastrianism is a dualistic faith -- a god of good battling it out with a god of evil, for the fate of the world. Hinduism is a polytheistic faith -- many gods competing and cooperating to determine the fate of the world.

There are many. One example the use of Soma for Hindu's, Hoama for Zoroastrians- the sacred drink of the God's that you read about in the Vedas.

There are no similarities between Zoroastrianism and Hinduism. Because Zoroastrianism is a religion and Hinduism is a culture. There are no similarities between the two, except if you conjure up some thing like P.N.Oak the so called Historian.
And don't just give off the cuff remarks, for a change try giving some concrete proof. And remember curiosity killed the cat. Take care.
I am still waiting for your e-mail. Allow me the opportunity to clear all the Miss-conceptions and the muck accumulated in your mind against the other religions. Because, I doubt if you will ever try on your own to clear these Miss-conception by studying other religions. Allah help you, man. Ameen

There is an Iranian Mazdayasni tradition, which states that Zarathustra founded a missionary school. As a matter of fact several of the teachers at this school are mentioned. This missionary school was supposed to be active for some 300 years after the Manthran's death. At that time some catastrophe, possibly the fall of the Kayanian dynasty, closed the school. According to the tradition, many missionaries were sent to all corners of the world to spread the Manthra. Whether this tradition is true or not, we have no way of ascertaining today.
However, we do know of similarities and influences, that Mazdayasna shares, or has had on other faiths. In the East it seems to be more a case of similarities, some uncanny, between Mazdayasna and the Oriental religions. Early Hinduism and the old Aryan Prue Zarathushtian religion are practically the same. Afterwards, they did part ways, but they share a set of similar cultural assumptions. There is Rta and its almost duplicate, Asha. There is Karma and there is the Principle of Return in Mazdayasna, which is a part of Asha. Both religions highly value Fire and both use the Kushti (girdle or cord).

No, I do not believe so. Infact, it is very similar to Jewdahism, Christianity, and Islam, even though it came about 2000 years before Jewdahism.
