Default Can somebody tell me what the impact of Zoroastrianism was on Islam?

I have found the impact on Judaism and Christianity for the most part, but nothing on Islam, although I know it had to have had an effect. If anybody knows more of the impacts on Christianity, I would appreciate the info. I know heaven and hell, judgment day, personal choice to choose good, and good wins over evil. That is all I found because the books or websites are biased towards Christianity and start talking about opinions. I am not looking for opinions unless it is an educated opinion, I don't want somebody preaching to me. Please be respectful, this is for a college course, not Sunday school.

You might be interested in "Women and Gender in Islam" by Leila Ahmed. I can't summarize what she wrote, but I think it would help you greatly.

actually, there was no impact. Islam was not influenced by any other religion. Islam is the continuous of the Ibrahim.judisi,sabian,christianity.
you need to check Zoroastrianism and you will find out the fact.

Zoroastrianism was in alto of ways similar to the reformation. only where in the case of reformation, it grew to be an accepted thing, whereas in the case of Zoroastrianism it was something that people were killed for talking about. to put it simply, it DIDNT have an effect on Islam. basically if you voiced an opinion favoring it you were murdered or exiled. such was the fate of some of its most fervent proponents in Islamic society. if you want to be technical, it had to have had some effect. however, mainstream Islam was almost totally unaffected by it. just another bump in the road. hope i was some help to you. good luck with your course.

Just because Zoroastrianism is considered monotheistic does not mean that Islam was influenced by it. Mohammed Peace Be Upon Him was illiterate?he could not read or write. So thinking that he had access to the Zoroastrianistic scriptures and being influenced bye them is not possible. In addition, the Koran descended in its entirety before there was real direct contact with Persia in ?Islamic? times. Therefore, there was no connection. Judaism, Christianity and Islam are connected?and Judaism was present BEFORE 600 B.C. which is when the founder of Zoroastrianism began it. I know some ?scholars? FEEL or have reported in passing that Zoroastrianism influenced these major religions, but that does not make it true, since there is no real evidence that supports that. Again, mere monotheism does not prove that, since Judaism is monotheistic and as mentioned above it preceded Zoroastrianism.
