Default How much of christianity do you think is based on zoroastrianism and how much on juda

The basis of Judaism is obvious, but it seems to me like there is a lot of Zoroastrianism in Christianity:
the candles (Zoroastrianism thinks fire is holy),
the holy water (Zorro...ism thinks water is holy),
the trinity (Zorro..ism has a trinity godhead),
the 3 days that Jesus was dead before he rose again (reflects the Zorro.ism belief in what happens when you die),
that light that is always alight in the church,
the "Good Thoughts, Good Words, Good Deeds" of Zoroastrianism which is reflected in the "God be in my thoughts, in my words and in my heart" that catholics say before the Gospel is read.

I was just wondering what everyone else thinks.

NB: if you could refrain from slagging off different christian groups, and just stick to the question, that would be really nice :-) thanks!
It's not just Catholicism though, it's all the original christian religions (IE the orthodox ones as well). If Christianity has been false since 200 years after Christs death, can you really believe that it was *ever* right?
Judaism is *not* the original religion. There were plenty before Judaism, and zoroastrianism influenced and changed judaism as well.

Sounds like you exposed Catholicism as false. Catholicism is not Christian. Catholicism teaches a false gospel of works that leads to eternal torment in hell (Galatians 1:6-9).

True salvation is only by faith alone in Jesus, without any of our own works added.

No candles, no "holy water".

Just JESUS.

Yes the basis of Judaism is obvious, it is the ORIGINAL religion on which
ALL other religions are based, including Christianity.

Nearly all of your list of attributes? are a result of the ROMAN Catholic Church
importing satanic pagan beliefs into Christianity.

God's Original Religion

Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

After the serpent deceived Eve, and sin entered the world, God ->
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God, The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. [John 1:1-3]

God gave the "Gospel" to Adam and eve.

This was, and is the same gospel we have in the Bible today.

This gospel was expanded upon down through the ages by means of God's Patriarchs, Prophets, Judges, Kings, and Jesus ( God's Son).

I believe this gospel to be the ORIGINAL religion from God and ALL other religions are a variation of, or are in lieu of God's original Gospel for the salvation of mankind.

May God bless you as you study His Word

Your question shows that you are not distinguishing between the origins of Christianity and the acquired practices of some later branches of it.

True Christianity has Absolutely nothing to do with Zoroastrianism in theology or origins.

On the other hand Christianity not only came out of Judaism but is the full flowering of God's message to His people starting right back with Abraham. Thus the early Church was totally Jewish in both theology and practices

As more and more non Jews joined it, whilst the theology stayed true (In most denominations) the practices varied from area to are according to the ethnic practices of a particular area. Some of these practices then become popular and common through the wider church.
