Do Jews, Christians, and Muslims know that their religions came from Zoroastrianism?
Almost everything from these three religions came from the much older, Persian monotheistic religion (which is still practiced today) "Zoroastrianism".
Do you think a lot of Jews, Muslims, and Christians know this?
everything comes from everything. everything grabs influence from whats around them, it want be much a shock they have some of its ideals because they are all religions from around the same region, so cultural diffusion occur ed obviously... but virtually there not the same, so they dint totally take from this religion and have the same exact beliefs as Zoroastrianism.
No, they ignore it and try their hardest to believe that they are practicing the "truth" because they are brainwashed.
They condemn anyone who tries to tell them the "truth" because the Big 3 (Christianity, Judaism and Islam) are all based off lies and appropriations of older pagan religions. To tell a Christian the truth would be to shatter their world, their entire lives are based off biblical lies.
I think deep down though they know that what they are practicing is false, and that all they are doing is following the agenda people in power have set for them like a bunch of little sheep.
Now say it with me Christians - "BAAAAAAAAAAAA, BAAAAAAAAA"
Judaism and true Christianity (not the false Christianity started by the Church) are most definitely NOT Zoroastrian. Modern Christianity and Islam ARE.
Judaism and true Christianity do not teach that God and Satan are at odds. Rather, they teach that God has Satan on a leash and that Satan will never be able to do anything that oversteps God's boundaries for him. Just as God has a plan for criminals, He has a plan for Satan.
I think you had better do your research before you come to assumptions like this.
Well Zoroastrianism started around 1600 BC. The Jewish faith and the belief in Jehovah dates back to 2000 BC, but God Almighty was worshiped since Adam was created about 7,400 years ago.
I doubt many people know that impact Zorastrianism had on the Jews particularly (as well as the others). It influenced other religions more than any other faith.
Many have heard the claim. However, most time lines do not put Ahura Mazda's prophet, Zoroaster, much earlier than 1000 - 1500 b.c., which means it wouldn't predate Judaism. And, though they have Judaic roots, Christianity and Islam are syntheses of many more earlier traditions than just Judaism and/or Zoroastrianism. Further more, it's possible for religions to bear uncanny resemblances to one another, even when separated by so much time and space that influence is impossible, because of the common human experience, our collective consciousness. To say that the Abrahamic religions "came" directly from Zoroastrianism is a gross over-simplification. Think less "Zeitgeist" or other such tripe, and more Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell. If you're really interested in ancient traditions and how they've shaped our modern cultural practices, I suggest Joseph Campbell's series, "The Power Of Myth" (as long as you remember that he is using "myth" in an academic sense, and NOT as a way to minimize or belittle the religious beliefs of the cultures of mankind).
Do you think Christians realize the ancient Egyptians had a god who was born of a virgin on DEC 25, resurrected a guy with a name suspiciously similar to the name of the guy Jesus resurrected, died, and was resurrected three days later? They totally stole their ideas. Christianity, Judaism and Muslim are all very unoriginal religions, taking ideas from multiple earlier religions.
Most regular people don't and even if you tell them, they won't believe you.
On the other hand, probably most scholars do. But most likely they will tell you it does not matter.
Especially when you consider that in the end, in modern day Persia (Iran) people ultimately follow Shia Islam and probably don't care much about Zoroastrianism anyway...
Third, you and Maria E (and Cardina E) really haven't a clue what you are talking about and are just regurgitating talking points given to you in a comparative religions class, taught of course by a humanist who hates Christianity.
Well I do know of the similarities in the belief systems but I wouldn't go as far as saying Abrahamic religions were derived from Zoroastrianism.
I can see how it would make sense to come to that conclusion because of the time lines and how much the religions sync up.
But in my opinion to say that Zoroastrianism is the origin of Abrahamic religions would be speculation at this point.
Not to mention if one looks back into the history of Zoroastrianism you will find that it has some similarities with the historic Vedic religion.
Many of the Zoroastrian scriptures convey similar ideas to that of the book of Vedas.
Which could more than likely be the result of some kind of religious synergism.
Ultimately I feel the concept religion and God evolve with man because God comes to people in different ways.
I don't share some of the ideas of my fellow Christians, I have come to understand many religions.
And I know that they all have similarities but in my opinion the changes and similarities in religions don't change my beliefs and ideals about God.
After all we could all be wrong so I just go with what I think is right.
You don't have to believe or agree with my point of view but I would hope you could at least understand it.
I have done my best to convey my point clearly.
Interpret as you may.

i know that many Jews are aware of the similarities, but it's not entirely clear when Zoroastrianism began, so it's hard to say that one derived from the other. it IS clear that Christianity and Islam have much stronger similarities to it and developed later, tho, so it's safe to say that the 2 younger religions are heavily influenced by it.
