Default Which religion os older, Judaism, or Zoroastrianism.?

The concept of the son of God was inherent to Zoroastrianism from the beginning. It has been implied, and it makes sense, that the three wise men who traveled to see the baby Jesus, were Zoroastrians.

Can anyone offer any proof on which religion is the oldest?
I have done some research on the subject.

In his Gathas (Hymns), Zarathushtra tells us of The World Savior, Saoshyant (Pahl. Soshyant), who is to come and stop the cruelty of bloodthirsty and wicked people, and renew the world, and end death. See Yasna 48.11-12, Yasna 43.3, The victorious Saoshyant and his helpers make the world wonderful: Yt19.9+, Yt19.88+, Astvat-ereta rises out of lake Kansaoya, and Asha will conquer the Druj: Yt19.92+, Dk3.102, Exaltation of mankind, see Dk3.247, Dk3.407.

Judge not lest ye be judged.
Here is an interesting link to the religion of Mithra, who was believed to be the Saoshyant.

"It is said that the Saoshyant was born on a Sunday from an Immaculate (Anahid) Virgin (Xosidhag) in Sistan. He lived for 64 years among men before ascending to his Father Ahura Mazda in 208 BCE."

Yes, but the 'son of G-d' idea has NOTHING to do with Judaism. It is a Christian concept, you won't find it anywhere in Judaism. Jesus does not feature in Judaism.

I don't know which is older but I do know that Judaism was the first ORGANISED faith to state that there is only one G-d and to express true monotheism.

COMRADE ABDUL - Lil Lil I will have to go back and check the books I have on this, because I'm sure they stated that Atenism wasn't. Oh well.....

I heard that Zoroastrianism is the grandfather of all religions. Plus I heard that Christianity got most of it's beliefs from Zoroastrianism.

"In the beginning, God ... "

You can't get much older than that.

Zoroastrianism is older, and it is the source of a lot of Judeo-Christian ideas. However, the idea of a 'son of God' is not one of them. You won't find anything of the sort in Zoroastrian texts. There are sons of gods and demigods in Hellenic-based mythology, though, which is a far more likely source.

paperback writer: Atenism was an organized monotheism before Judaism.

Zoroastrianism is accepted as older. Judaism stole beliefs from that and other religions.

Somewhere to go on line for information on pretty much any religion is ReligiousTolerance.org They have very non-opinionated information about most of the world's religions..

http://www.religioustolerance.org/zoroastr.htm

Is the page you'll want to look for. It says, "Historians and religious scholars generally date his life sometime between 1500 and 1000 BCE on the basis of his style of writing."

I'd say Judaism is older, which is over 5,000 years old according to the Jewish calendar; while Zoroastrianism began around 750 BC, which is only less than 3,000 years ago.

Hope that helps.

Peace be with you.

Well there never was any mention in the Bible so from my point of view Judaism but the fact remains that in the Bible Jews didn't come around until after Noah. Which Zoroastrianism may have been the first but i dint know enough at the moment to say.

With to days Judaism they deny Jesus was the Son of God because he was born to a carpenter as his world but not true father. They always believed he would be born to a king and take the place of David.

No, there is no Son of God in Zoroastianism.
Zoroastrianism was the first we have that divided the world into the good/evil dichotomy.
And the Jewish religion only says that their God is the God of the Jews. They note other Gods in the old testament and say not to worship them.

Do some more research on your questions before making them into statements. You will get much more informed answers if you do.

The Zoroastrian followers of Ahura Mazda are quite a bit older than the Judeans.
Note that Judaism as a religion did not exist before about 640 BC, maybe as late as 500 BC, after the return from the Babylonian captivity.

Judaism- The Torah dates from 1500 BC- Abraham was 1800 BC. Zaroastianism is from between 800 and 600 BC, and the oldest references to it are only from around 250 BC.

On top of that- Zaroastianism is not similar to Judaism at all. It is a dualistic religion having a good God vs a Bad God (which was further developed in Mithraism) and is similar to the God vs Devil battle in Christianity. Judaism, on the other hand, is strictly monotheistic stating there is only ONE god, that any thing else claimed by other people to be God is false, and that God is merely a false concept and to worship it idolatry. On top of that, the devil in Judaism is merely an angel with the job of being the prosecutor in the heavenly trial after death and has no free will and serves God.
