when Christianity became popular early on all the pagan religions copied Christianity in order to keep or gain followers. don't be fooled, Christianity is the truth.

the ironic fact is that the founder of Christianity (Jesus) is a later reincarnation of the founder of Zoroastrianism...Christianity is a later modified update to the update of Zoroastrianism...the Mozaique religion(Israel)

Zoroastrianism is a mystical religion believing in two primary forces. The Truth, and The Lie. The Magi that visited Jesus, were Zoroastrian astrologers, so one cannot believe it Stole Satan.

The Truth is the "Benevolent" force, and omnipotent. The Lie is a false force, and it tries to corrupt you. At judgment time, you need to cross a razor-thin bridge, those who lived pure lives are light enough to cross, and reach paradise, while the "Sinners" are heave and fall off.

Voltaire [an Atheist philosopher] actually liked Zoroastrianism compared to Christianity, as it is logical deism, it doesn't so much care about creation and what not, as the divine is of it and transcendent of this reality.[I think that's how it went].

Christianity stole several things from it, because threat of damnation [where the Jews have none] sells more pew tickets.

It is somewhat similar but it differs on several major points, some are:

1. The after life concept

2. The inclusion of worship practices - ritualistic

3 They don't proselytize and convert

4. Ethnicity matters

I actually am Zoroastrian and figured I would take the opportunity to assist...as there are very few of us left in the world today. That being said, I am also not a theologists or an expert, but can speak of the learning's from my life.

Zoroastrianism is believed by many to be the first monotheistic religion, originating the concept of one supreme god, good and evil, heaven and hell, a conscious, and final judgment. It is thought to have influenced many of the major religions today, including Christianity. We have similar beliefs, however, Zoroastrianism tends to be a bit less indoctrinated than Christianity (i.e. we do not believe in confessing your sins, we do not really attend a church "service" as such, etc). At the end of the day, Zoroastrianism at it's very core believes "Good Thoughts, Good Words, and Good Deeds", and that as an individual each person has a conscious knowing when/if they are following the "good" path (Asha) or not. It is the responsibility for the individual to "choose your own path", because when you pass on, you will be held at a final judgment where the "good" you have done is weighed against the "bad". If the good prevails, you go to heaven, bad...hell.

My easy answer to your question: Zoroastrianism is similar to Christianity as Judaism or Islam is. With regards to the "nutty gritty" of the religions....they are not "the same".

Hope the info helps.
