I actually am Zoroastrian and figured I would take the opportunity to assist...as there are very few of us left in the world today. That being said, I am also not a theologists or an expert, but can speak of the learning's from my life.
Zoroastrianism is believed by many to be the first monotheistic religion, originating the concept of one supreme god, good and evil, heaven and hell, a conscious, and final judgment. It is thought to have influenced many of the major religions today, including Christianity. We have similar beliefs, however, Zoroastrianism tends to be a bit less indoctrinated than Christianity (i.e. we do not believe in confessing your sins, we do not really attend a church "service" as such, etc). At the end of the day, Zoroastrianism at it's very core believes "Good Thoughts, Good Words, and Good Deeds", and that as an individual each person has a conscious knowing when/if they are following the "good" path (Asha) or not. It is the responsibility for the individual to "choose your own path", because when you pass on, you will be held at a final judgment where the "good" you have done is weighed against the "bad". If the good prevails, you go to heaven, bad...hell.
My easy answer to your question: Zoroastrianism is similar to Christianity as Judaism or Islam is. With regards to the "nutty gritty" of the religions....they are not "the same".
Hope the info helps.
