You refer to their care plan and see what's been agreed upon regarding their care.

Get in your time machine and go to the year 2007, that religion is dead in our time.

A Zoroastrian with personal hygiene issues should be handled just the same way you'd handle any resident's hygiene issues, there's nothing in the religion that would prevent that from being the case. If it is a cultural issue related to gender, have someone of the same gender talk to the person. You could perhaps ask the client to bathe/brush teeth, or just put it into their daily schedule...it really depends upon the structure of the home what would work best.

This type of question is going to become more important as the population ages and aged care staff are required to be respectful and decent towards people of many different backgrounds.

If the person them self is unable to provide the information, is it possible to contact a Zoroastrian cent re in your local area, speak to a community leader and request some general guidelines?

If not, relatives or even friends would be able to provide some basic information.

I have given a link below which may be useful.

Best wishes :-)
