Believe whatever you want...

Why are you asking us why you can't believe? You need permission to believe in what you want? Your belief, or your friend's belief, is up to you (him) buddy...

I don't know but I hope I still live in a country that allows freedom of religion.

Can someone just answer the man's question without people giving the generally formulaic responses?

I'm actually curious myself - is there some sort of prohibition against the followers of Zoroaster? I thought they were People of the Book as well...

No problem,

You can believe he was a Prophet since the Quran says Prophets were sent to most all places.......

You can believe that Buddha, Zoroaster or guides of the American Indians were Prophets sent to them from God.

We do not know for sure since their names are not in the Quran but we cannot say they were not .......because we are told that many came who are not listed for reasons of brevity and importance.

Either way, when a new Prophet comes his message Supercedes all the messages before and we have to follow him.

Last Prophet = Last Message = Last Commandments = Protected message of Success.

The last and Final Prophet of the Lord of the Universe is Prophet Mohammed.

His message now super cedes all others on earth.

Everyone has the choice to accept it or reject it........

Certainly Zarathustra (Zoroaster in Greek) was a prophet in the sense that he founded that religion. However, other than a small community near Mumbai, India the religion has died out, having been a victim of the Muslim hordes that overran Persia and forcibly converted everyone to Islam there. The only other religion that regarded Zarathustra to be a prophet was Manichaeism, but unfortunately that has died out, too. The Manichaeans were exterminated this time not by the Muslims, but by the Christians.

Zarathrustra, cool guy... great ideas. Inspired much of what is found in Judaic, Christian, Muslim, Hermetic teachings.

As a human, believe whatever religion pleases or seems right. But there can be consequences. I believe that Zoroastrians are badly persecuted in Iran (saw a TV program), and there may be difficulties for the person converting out of Islam.
