Did you know that the belief in angels came from Zoroastrianism?
In Zoroastrianism there are different angel-like animals. For example, each person has a guardian angel, called Fravashi. They patronize human beings and other creatures, and also manifest God?s energy. Also, the Amesha Spentas have often been regarded as angels (they don't convey messages), but are rather emanations of Ahura Mazda ("Wise Lord", God); they appear in an abstract fashion in the religious thought of Zarathustra and then later (during the Achaemenid period of Zoroastrianism) became personalized, associated with an aspect of the divine creation (fire, plants, water, magic, being happy...). When Abraham let Ur (Iraq), he was a Zoroastrian.
The religion was founded by Zarathushtra (Zoroaster in Greek; Zarthosht in India and Persia). Conservative Zoroastrians assign a date of 6000 BCE to the founding of the religion; other followers estimate 600 BCE. Historians and religious scholars generally date his life sometime between 1500 and 1000 BCE on the basis of his style of writing.
The existence of angels can be found through out the many religions of the world. We all have an angelic principle that forever dwells within us all as the Christ principle or the higher self.It is this higher self which reincarnates over and over again until a relative perfection is achieved and we become divine beings.
Perhaps, they had more insight than some other religions of old, but angels as a concept did not start with Zoroastrianism. It goes back much further than that. To date, the book that has more information about angels than any other I have read is The Urantia Book. They are mentioned throughout the book.
Did you know that the three wise men that visited Jesus at His birth were Zoroastrian priests?
All ancient cultures believed in the existence of spiritual beings, both good and evil. Such ideas did not begin with the prophet Zorathustra.
Many of the primary tenants of Judaism are the opposite of what is believed in Zaroastianism. Zaroastianism is dualistic, Judaism monotheistic.
Also, Zaroastianism would have been borrowing from Judaism - Judaism dates from at least 2000 B.C., Zaroastianism is between 500 and 1000 years younger than Judaism.
Most of what we know about Zaroastianism is from after the 6Th century B.C.; Judaism was already more than 1,500 years old.
Most of their holy Scriptures were already written.
