Yes, I have heard of Zoroastrianism, and I know next to nothing about it. I know it has something to do with the zodiac, and that historically it was cent red in the Mesopotamian region (today's Iran and Iraq). There was a tower that was used to study the stars. That's all I know - but I'm sure you could find out a lot more by writing in the word on Google.
He may have been born around 600 BC, or 1000 BC, or 1300 BC. Its hard to tell.

Current Zoroasterianism occurs mainly in India under the name Parsi, they have holy fires where they burn sandalwood and put the ash on their foreheads.
They also don't bury their dead, they put them in open towers where vultures come and DAT all the flesh and muscle off. They do this because they feel a dead body would defile the soil.
Yes it was started by Zarathustra. It is supposedly a dying religion as the only way to become Zoroastrian is to have both parents practicing. It is meant to die if I remember correctly. I think there is a temple in Chicago. Only people who are Zoroastrains may enter the inner temples.

I know that it was founded by Zoroastr in around 500 BC or so. He was in Persia, which is modern day Iran. And today the religion only has a few followers in Persia and around the world, the most famous being Freddy Mercury.

Zoroastrianism is the religion and philosophy based on the teachings ascribed to the prophet Zoroaster (Zarathushtra, Zartosht). Mazdaism is the religion that acknowledges the divine authority of Ahura Mazda, proclaimed by Zoroaster to be the one uncreated Creator of all (God).
As demonstrated by Zoroastrian creed and articles of faith, the two terms are effectively synonymous. In a declaration of the creed ? the Fravar?n? ? the adherent states: "?I profess myself a devotee of Mazda, a follower of Zarathustra." (Yasna 12.2, 12.8)
Basic Beliefs Include
The transcendental and universal God Ahura Mazda, the one uncreated Creator and to whom all worship is directed.
That creation is attacked by violence and destruction. The resulting conflict involves the entire universe, including humanity, which has an active role to play in the conflict. Ahura Mazda will ultimately prevail, at which point time will end.
Not of Zarathushtra's original teachings, but nonetheless accepted by some as doctrine, are:
Evil is represented by Angra Mainyu (literally 'destructive spirit').
After death, the soul is allowed three days to meditate on his/her past life. If the good thoughts, words and deeds outweigh the bad, then the soul is taken into heaven. Otherwise, the soul is led to hell.
The universe will go through three eras:
creation;
the present world where creation is under attack.
a final state when Ahura Mazda will prevail, all the universe will revert to its pure state and the occupants of hell will be released.
