They don't bother, they'd rather work tirelessly to cover it up.

Ok. Being the first is such an unimportant debate.

Zoroastrianism isn't monotheistic; it's theistic, as the good and evil deities have equally matched powers.

The real first monotheism was Atenism, but that died out after a few decades.

The first documented Monotheistic religion was the religion of the Aton in Egypt.

Technically, Zoroastrianism is more properly described as a dualistic religion (which Christianity more resembles) than an monotheistic Moe.

Zoroastrianism is monotheistic, just like Hinduism. Of course, so is Trinidadian Christianity. But the ideas of monotheism are one derivation of monotheism, which is much more complex.

The more I read about them the more I think they more like the Greeks than the Jews. They have their elemental thing going on and though God was uncreated they say he created good and evil and just isn't in line with anything the Jews believed.. the first mention of the Zorastrists was around 5BC in the Iran/Persia/India areas.
There was an Egyptian that believed in one God too but his religion died with his reign.

*shrug* I don't really care. Whether or not it's thought of as the first monotheistic religion doesn't influence Judaism at all.

1) Zorastianism was DUALISTIC, not Monotheistic
2) Zorastianism is most likely only from around 1000 BC- and the more likely date is only 500BC. Judaism dates backer to 1600BC. Not too difficult to see which came first...
3) What is a debate is whether Akhenaton predated Abraham or the other way around. Either way- its immaterial to Judaism. We don't care what other people believe, we only worry about what we believe
