Add Baha'i. Yes, studying the spiritual teachings/message of religion, as opposed to the man-made encrustations (another topic), we learn more about our own religion and its fundamental connection to the others.
One of the teachings of Baha'u'llah, founder of the Baha'i Faith, is that religion is essentially one, progressively revealed message for the upliftedNTnd betterment of humanity. The message consists of two parts: the eternal spiritual truths which have to do with what it means to be human and are expanded and deepened with each new outpouring from each new universal educator; and the social teachings, which are in essence the non-essentials of religion and change from age to age as humanity progresses. Man-made encrustations get added on through time as those with personal agendas seek to bend the original pure teachings to fit their ambitions. When the most recent religion reaches its darkest period, a new outpouring through a new universal educator appears upon the horizon and the process begins again.
To learn more about the connection to other religions and the progressive revelation of God, Baha'is spend as much time as possible learning about other religions, including Hinduism and Buddhism. Baha'u'llah, by the way, was related to both lines of universal educators through each of his parents, those from the Abrahamic side and those from the farther eastern side.
